The Rage Monthly: The Adventures of Jizzona Straynger!
The Adventures of Jizzona Straynger: The Rage Monthly – October, 2011
Poodles! Summer is officially over and now it’s time to move into my favorite part of the year. Before we get into all the action happening this fall, let’s recap some of the fun events we experienced in September.
One of my favorite events in September was the LGB2NETWORK Play@ Maya Pool Party. Let me tell you, there were enough beefcakes to feed a small village in Africa. The boys were hot, the jams were rockin’ and the nice touch of hookah added to relaxation and recreation. Set in a beautiful setting in Long Beach with views of the harbor, I am one queen hoping the Play@ Maya Pool Party Series returns next summer!
On September 14, The Abbey presented the 6th Annual Christmas in September Benefit for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. If you’ve never attended this event in the past, let me just tell you what you’ve missed out on. This year, the event was hosted by The Abbey’s founder David Cooley and Adrienne Maloof of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This event helps solicit toys for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. One of the reasons behind Christmas in September is that the inventory of toys for the children falls very low during the summer months. Christmas in September ensures that children at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles have the joy and distraction of receiving a special gift at a time when, traditionally, toy donations are slow. This year, the event featured food and cocktails by Belvedere (RED) Vodka. The Abbey was adorned with Christmas trimmings from floor to ceiling as well as a snow machine! There were sexy Christmas models in their skivvies as well as special appearances from the likes of Lance Bass, Lisa Foxx, and Erin Murphy. Be sure to look for this event next September, you don’t want to miss it!
I wrapped up my month with a quick trip to Texas. My first stop was down near the coast in Houston where I met up with the girls of FBAR Houston, DragLive. Making a name for, “Boutique Clubbing,” this posh joint was kicking. After a few cocktails with the ladies, we headed over to Meteor. Now, not as upscale as FBAR, Meteor featured some interesting entertainment. Set in the middle of the bar is a stage featuring sexy dancers working a full-stage shower. Let me just say, besides the humidity, Houston had it going on!
My next stop was Dallas. For those of you who don’t know, I spent 4 years living in Dallas back in the day, pre-period panties. What I love about Dallas is all the sass. For those of you who never have experienced gay Dallas, you’re in for a real shock come this October when LogoTV premiers A-List: Dallas. What excites me about this new show, besides the fact of me being a reality TV junkie, is my own personal connection to one of the cast members, James Doyle. James and I grew up in Lawton, OK together. We had our share of fun and excitement in Lawton. Simply put, James and I got into trouble together several times. I can’t wait to see all his shenanigans broadcast on TV for the world to see. If he keeps to his true self, you won’t be disappointed either!
October marks the beginning of fall and holiday parties! There are some really cool events going on in October that you need to know about! First up is AIDS WALK Los Angeles on October 16. As of today, already $1,231,121 has been raised online for this event! The walk begins at the Pacific Design Center with over 25,000 people walking 6.2 miles. Not only is this just a walk, it comes packed with entertainment! This year, the headliners include Drew Carey, Dot Marie Jones of Glee, Cloris Leachman, and many more! Dust off those walkin’ shoes and get out there and start raising money!
Of course, October wouldn’t be complete without guys in disguise and a few good Halloween parties. This year, I’ll be goblin’ it out New Orleans style for HNO28 October 27-30. Benefiting the Lazarus Foundation, HNO28 is one of the largest Halloween events in the country. The Lazarus Foundation is a home in New Orleans for men and women with AIDS. They provide healthcare and support services for their residents.
For those of you wanting to stay local, my favorite Halloween event in SoCal is the annual West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnival. Boasting of the largest Halloween street party in the world, WeHo Halloween Costume Carnival hosts more than 500,000 ghosts and ghouls each year. Santa Monica Boulevard transforms into a crazy Halloween costume contest. Participants can also expect fantastic live entertainment, food, children’s activities and even a good ol’ fashioned pumpkin-carving contest. Admission is free and the event runs from 6PM to 11PM. If you do make it out in costume, send me a picture!
All that Halloween talk reminds me of a story. I’ll leave you with this. On the night of a Halloween costume party a couple were having trouble picking suitable outfits. After a while the wife got mad and stormed out of the room. Fifteen minutes later she came back completely naked except for a lemon between her legs. The husband looked at her for a moment and then stormed out of the room himself. Twenty minutes passed and then he came back himself with a potato around his manhood. His wife gave him a weird look and then the husband replied, “If you’re going as a sour-puss, I’m going as a dictator.”
XOXO,
